Buying New Curtains? Think Recycled!
Posted on April 26th, 2011
In the past recycled curtains usually meant someone took a bed sheet and added tabs, or refitted a fabric remnant into some form of window treatment.
Not anymore!
If it’s time for new window treatments, whether you are moving or just ready for a change, curtains made of recycled materials are becoming trendy and fashionable and are a great choice for your home. You don’t have to feel like burlap sacks are hanging in your windows. Today’s fabrics can be sheer, cotton or satin look and feel, and environmentally friendly at the same time.

Curtainworks line of Reprieve Sheers have the look and feel of traditional polyester sheers, but are made by a proprietary process, producing fibers that are “first quality,” so they look good and feel soft and comfortable when made into fabrics. The difference is in the engineering, and the product is a superior yarn.
Companies like Maytex manufacture 100% recycled cotton curtains that work well in any room from kids bedrooms to formal areas. Take a look around as prices are very reasonable. It’s great to go recycled!
