Continuing yesterday’s tree theme, today’s photos are a tribute to the power of nature to overcome obstacles. This tree, on the Appalachian Trail just north of Skyland Resort in Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park, was able to rise through the rock, stretch for the sun, and thrive.

Treasure Awaits
Posted on June 29th, 2011
I spent the day on Nantucket, and had a wonderful time speaking at Bartlett’s Farm. I was wowed by Bartlett’s growing operation (veggies, herbs, and garden plants), impressed and thrilled to see Chris and Bob Hestwood’s gardens, and pleased beyond measure with the window boxes in town. Photos below.
All in all, this day out reminds me once again that there is treasure everywhere. Sometimes all it takes is breaking our routines and getting into the world to see the gems that are waiting for us.
I could fill entire blog with photos from Chris Hestwood’s lovely garden. This is just a small taste…
The tomatoes growing in the hoop house at Bartlett’s Farm were impressive! Pesticide free, of course.
House Cleaning Tips
Posted on June 29th, 2011
In this section we talk about house cleaning tips for every room in your home.
When the weather starts to get warm, the birds are chirping and the flowers are starting to push up through the soil, people start talking about spring cleaning.
But why do we have to wait until spring gets here. We can have a clean and healthy home all year long and it really is not that difficult if you break it down.
Get a jump on your spring cleaning now by doing a little each weekend. If you thoroughly clean one room each weekend, you will have a head start on the whole process and have your home finished to enjoy the spring and summer.
Each week we will be adding a room to clean to our roster of what to do!
First, we will start with the kitchen. This is probably the most difficult room to start in but once you get through this room, the others will be a piece of cake.
